Riva del Garda is at the north end of Lake Garda in Italy. Lake Garda in Italy is similar to the Finger Lakes in Upstate New York. It is a long skinny lake that was carved by a glacier. Unlike the Finger Lakes in New York, the lakeshores are properly referred to as mountains rather than hills. In this photo, the morning mist is still present.
Limone Sui Garda is on Lake Garda. Limone is the Italian word for Lemon. Lemons have been growing here for hundreds of years. Since the town is much older than the lemon groves, the name may have come from a similar word that means boundary. At Limonaia del Castèl, there are new lemon gardens and terraces. The town is recapturing its lemon-growing history. This is a delightful ferry stop on Lake Garda.
